Organisatiesysteem opts for fast innovation with a future-proof core system

Easily adaptable without intervention of IT
A system that updates itself automatically
Organisatiesysteem is a Dutch consultancy firm that helps businesses set up and maintain ISO-certified management systems. To make this process as easy as possible for their clients, they use an online management system that guides clients through the process of attaining and maintaining their certificates in every step of the way.
As Organisatiesysteem relied on a core system that was already 8 to 9 years old, they gradually experienced more constraints in the flexibility of their software. Updates didn’t always go according to plan, resulting in bugs and errors within the system. Also, each alteration to the system itself had to be hand-coded by experienced software developers.
“Whenever the old system got an update, this would usually result in crucial errors in our operations,” explains Jelis Roodbeen, general director at Organisatiesysteem. “And whenever adjustments had to be made, this would take a lot of time because they had to be programmed by IT-professionals – a process we always outsourced to third parties.”
“In just two months, our old software could be replaced with a mission critical and highly scalable core system.”

Organisatiesysteem didn’t want to be dependent on its old software anymore. Hence they opted for a low-code approach that would make sure the old system could be replaced in a fast and effective way. At the same time, the new system would lay the foundation on which Organisatiesysteem could develop for the future, without any restrictions.
“The system did not only have to be error-proof, but also provide the possibility to our teams to apply quick adjustments to the system without the intervention of IT-professionals,” explains Roodbeen.
To enable a fast and effective transition to the new system, Organisatiesysteem called in the help of fizor. First, the fizor. team analyzed the current operational processes and exposed the main problems of the old system. Based on their analysis, they could now look for the right solution. In this case, the Betty Blocks platform proved to be the most reliable option for Organisatiesysteem’s demands.

Ever since Organisatiesysteem opted for a low-code system, they’ve gained much more control over their operational processes. “The system is always up-to-date, as updates are automatically provided by our low-code provider,” Roodbeen explains. “This saves us the time and financial resources that were previously spent on updating the system manually.”
Roodbeen continues: “But the difference is also noticeable for our clients. Never before have our customers been informed in a more interactive way – about what steps they should take, which plans are currently in action, and status updates about their certifications. This was not yet possible with the old system. It allows us to interact quicker with our clients. Whenever they have certain requests, we can easily incorporate these into the system ourselves, without having to wait on an IT-expert for the implementation.”
According to Organisatiesysteem, it’s fizor. that truly made the transition to the new core system a walk in the park. “Thanks to their independent advice and access to various low-code platforms, they were able to present us with the best solution. Moreover, it was simply a pleasant experience working with the fizor. team. They’ve really convinced that the future lies in low-code!”
